  • yes, and it works wonders... just put a collar on the cat and attach a small bell. : )
  • It's in a cat's nature to do this, so the best bet is to give the birds some warning. A collar with a bell on worked for us.
  • If you really love your cat(s) you'll keep them indoors. My cats love the outdoors and were all adopted from the street so they spent a lot of time outside. I've built them a nice cage that they can go through their cat door into the outside and still enjoy being outside without the risks to themselves or other animals that allowing them to free roam would cause. (you can see the lines of the cage on my avatar if you look closely). I've tried the bell thing when I was younger--I guess I've got some really smart cats. They just used one paw to hold the bell and the other three to grab the bird :)
  • Keep your cat inside. It's better for both the cat and small wildlife.
  • This is bigger than you or your cat. What you are asking is a very selfish human disfunction in nature.
  • Only way is to keep your cat inside. Catching birds (and mice, rats, baby bunnies, etc) is all in the cats natural instinct and there is no way to stop it if you continue to let your cat outside.
