Why are there no physical descriptions of Jesus of any kind in the Bible?

My guess is that it's because he didn't look like anyone special. He looked Semetic, like any other man in that culture and time period.

I'd like to believe that there are no physical descriptions because God wants each of us to grow in the image of the Christ. All of us have the potential be as loving as Jesus was. The trick seems to be how well we repond to God's grace in growing into that kind of person.
