you dont actually "throw" it. its used in ventriloquest(sp) acts all the time. Yes it is possible, you learn to speak without moving your lips, that way it appears that something else is talking, not you. To see it down really well, you can check out Jeff Dunham on youtube, or any ventriloquest(sp)

It's a myth. People who "throw their voices" are good at (1) talking with minimal movement of their mouth and face, (2) at acting, so the "other" voice they do sounds different from their own voice and (3) at being able to rapidly switch back and forth from their own voice (with their mouth moving) to the character's voice (with their mouth not moving). They have to be able to play 2 or more different parts and switch among them without getting confused about it. It's a really amazing talent tod develop. So if you get a book on ventriloquism and are willing to practice a heap, you might develop a most cool skill. The other thing that's tough is coming up with a script for your act. But that's doable, too!
