What would you do with an option that would allow you to gain unlimited points, downrate answers to make yours the best, and defraud the whole system of rank on AnswerBag? Who should be the first to know of said option?

Assuming this exists, it isn't an 'option' it's a bug and the first to know should be the AB feedback link at the bottom of the page, to correct it. As a hypothetical, if I had that 'power' I would use it for good. I'd reverse blatant trolling and reward helpful answers that received few points.

I think we have AB users who come awfully close to this as it is. . . .no other explanation is remotely possible. I would think Joel would and should be the first to know. I personally would have no use for it--it's just not that important.

I would just report it to AB, and hope that they would fix it. Most of us don't care about the points, anyway.

It's been done before. The terminology used to describe this is "sockpuppet".
