  • push ups strengthen the arms, though they are more effective for strengthening the chest and shoulders. . also you can punch walls. softly at first (it's painful) and increased slightly over time. the goal is to desensitize the area, and to get accustomed to the impact. when punching, one tends to hold back because it hurts the puncher, even when executed correctly. lacking a punching bag, a wall can be used to mentally train yourself to not hold back, as well as desensitize the are by callusing the skin. after punching a wall for a couple of months, punching a person should feel like punching warm butter. . i'm not speaking from experience, and i can't really back this up with facts. . it just makes sense, y'know ?

  • Step forward when throwing the punch.
  • You can make a punch more forceful if you lessen the point of impact. For example using a karate chop, trigger finger or tiger's paw to strike instead of using the whole fist. Assuming a street fight you may be better off using knees and elbows if you lack power behind the punch.
