My 2001 Tahoe interior light dimmer no longer dims the lights, it only works when dialed to the brightest setting, any suggestions?

I'd first try replacing the dimmer switch itself.

I have a 97 Tahoe which cuts out sometimes when I come to a stop. All electric goes off, the clock, radio, dash light, etc. After about 5 minutes, the interior lights come on again and then I know that it will restart. What is happening? Dealer cant find.

I have a 2001 Chevy tahoe. The Brake and ABS light stay on. I looked at the brake fluid and it was black. I pumped out the old and filled the reservoir up with new fluid and bled the brakes. Now the lights go off and then come back on intermitently.
