That happened to me last night. Funny you should ask that. Guess it's pretty common. I panicked! Went back to the car and found it. Was I relieved!

I freak out, my medication is in it and my insurance won't cover lost medication and if I lose my purse then I can't come up with the $93 I would need to replace it

Never lost them...they were stolen...I immediately said "oh sh**, not again!" and notified all the credit card companies and my bank...cancelled the existing cards that might have been taken, cancelled the checking account and got a new one, went to the DMV and got a new driver's license. Pain in the a**. I only carry one credit card now..learned my lesson. I have a purse with an inner zipper, in which I keep the wallet/checkbook...once someone had reached into my purse at the market and took my wallet because it was not concealed. That will never happen again. :)

Only happened once and I was in high school going to the shore for senior week. I only had my license and cash in it. I was pissed because I wouldn't be able to get in the bars or eat/drink, although my buddies would have lent me money. I had left it on top of my car when I had gassed up. A guy saw it fall off on the highway, stopped and picked it up. He called my home and when I called my dad, he told me where I could pick it up. It was about 50 miles away, but worth the trip. All the money was still there and the guy wouldn't even take a tip/reward. Now, with credit cards and what not, I would simply just start making phone calls, cancelling things, going to the DMV etc.

freak out!! my purse got stolen...out of my car! i called the cops..but psh they cant do much. just get over it i guess..make sure to cancel any cards!!

Pissed. Though I never keep cash in my wallet.
