  • I think it's appalling. Terrible. And I have signed the petition. Do you know what the present situation is?
  • It's so sad. It was even sadder when I followed a link about his appeal and found out about the new Romeo and Juliet law. The Romeo and Juliet Law was passed after he was sentenced and would have given him no more than 12 months.
  • That is the biggest judicial atrocity that I have ever heard in my entire life! What in the hell are these Georgia officials thinking? I too signed the petition.
  • Unbelievable. I signed as well.
  • It's so stupid! Prejudice is just wrong, especially in this. It's not his fault, the girl admitted it was consensual to her mother. And the girl herself admits he shouldn't be punished for this! Seriously, why the hell should you be punished more for getting head than going all the way?
  • Racism is alive and well--and so is a kneejerk, uninformed, fanatical reaction to anything that the state or media call a "sex crime." If we were a civilized society, no one would fear going to prison for consensual sex with a teenager--let alone another teenager!
  • Fortunatly,he has been released, I felt injustice went way too far in this case. Hope he and anyone else has learned from this case public opinion can force change. the judge should have been fired,if voted in then voted out of office.
  • Unbelievable. There should be no sentence. First off, they were close in age, it was consensual, and it was teenagers, not some perv having "consensual" sex with an 8 year old. It was based off of a stupid, outdated law; it was a sentencing probably also thick with racism. The girl was also the initiator. The judge needs to be disbarred.
  • It is wrong. They were both under the legal age and it was consensual. I remember that case. He was a scholar and an athlete and it was probably because of his race. I hope he gets a chance to excel in life. Because nobody should have to suffer because of something like that.
  • I do not think it was right .... Putting race aside as whites have also been prosecuted for underage sex .... I believe that some prosecuator was ABUSING his authority , as was a f'd up judge ... Maybe give him 30-90 days IF the girlfriend agrees it was consentual .... BUT; definately not any more than that ... +5
  • i dont think its anyhthing to do with colour. in case you havn't noticed there is alot of white people in prison as well. and yeh i do agree with him not getting so long. life should be life for murder.
