He also shows his teeth really bad to just about everyone. Last time i was over my friends house i saw he had a bone and i tried taking it from him with my foot. He got real mad about that and growl. Only with bones i guess.

Depending on where your friend got the dog, this is a bad sign. Allowing a dog this young to take charge like this can be detrimental and lead the dog to harming someone later. Your friend should take a firm hand now. Using their own reinforcement will help. Showing the dog that chasing children can lead to biting. Growling at food being played with shows dominance and will lead to biting. Kenneling the dog while they are gone can help calm his nerves. Hand commands and strict loud NO commands will let the dog know who is in control. If actions are not taken now-I feel your friend's doggie could be in for a rough life. Puppy classes are not always necessary, but the owner has to take hold of the situation before it becomes more out of control. As for the growling with the bone? Guarding his food, is a sign he was not allowed to eat first or as much as he needed from his litter mates. This must be stopped! Try hand feeding treats that the doggie likes. By giving the food from the hand directly to the dog; it shows the dog you are not there to take but to give and are not a threat to his food. Good luck.

If that was my dog i would be putting it on its back and telling it a firm "NO!" everytime it did that behavior. puppy classes are a must though, you ahve to work through the bad behavior dont ignore it and face it head on! let the trainer know before hand what you are bringing so they can accomidate you and set up the right enviroment and situations to get you through the bad behavior. this is a set up for very bad behavior. I would get a hand on this now!!! ASAP!!! socialization with other dogs and people is very important.
