  • Of course marriage can exist without divorce - it did for along time. But instead you get either people living together unhappily, or people separated but unable to remarry and regarded as "living in sin" and even subject to serious penalties if they found another partner. When the costs of broken marriages were extremely high, such attitudes *may* have been the lesser evil. Now that a broken marriage is not nearly so harmful to women and children, it is much the lesser evil to allow divorce.
  • No, marriage cannot exist without divorce. Because, though there are many happy couples in the world, there will always be some people who got married for the wrong reasons and regret it. Or sometimes people change in radical ways and can no longer be with their husband/wife. So, no, there is no way at all marriage could exist without divorce; especially this day in age when women have so much freedom and don't want to put up with abusive husbands.
  • divorce was meant for marital unfaithfulness. when someone seriously breaks their vows, they broke an oath and it is worthless. i believe there will always be divorce as long as there is unfaithfulness in the world.
