Question

Help answer this question below.

I am going to apply to be a teacher and I have to submit a fingerprint clearance. Will this show misdemeanors I was arrested for? What if I am going to have those misdemeanors expunged from my record. How long after should I apply for a job?

Yes. It will probably show misdemeanors. I'm not certain how long a waiting period is necessary.

Do they want the fingerprints just for ID purposes or are they actually running a background check.

What kind of misdeanors and were you convicted? The fact that you were arrested isn't necessarilly bad if the case was dismissed. They're probably looking for problems with children and sex. Here in Texas Class C (traffic tickets, public intoxication) generally don't show up. Class B (DWI) and Class A (assult) do.

Do you know the rules, timing and cost about expungement?
