No. Infact its foolish not to be optimistic. The outcome of ur actions depend to a great extend on ur confidence nad ur confidence level depends to a great extend on whether ur optimistic or not.

Philosophy one: philosophy doctrine that our world is best: a philosophical doctrine, first proposed by Leibnitz, that ours is the best of all possible worlds. Philosophy two: philosophy belief in power of good: the belief that things are continually getting better and that good will ultimately triumph over evil. At some times it is foolish, like saying "war will never happen again!" There are outside factors that are out of our control in these instances. Optismism boils down to hope and hope is a foolish notion.

optimism is a lie - it might be clever - but foolish none the less

Optimism can work and does work,when accompanied with planned action. By itself it can also be wishful thinking.When one has a concrete goal ,and has the groundwork laid out,in order to achieve that goal, optimism is the fire needed to overcome possible obstacles.
