  • Tough question - you could make a case for none of them, with the exception of Mark, being in the NT but that's perhaps going to extremes. Maybe books that were included by the church for mainly theological reasons rather than because they contained the truth should be excluded. In my view these would be 1 John, the Gospel of John and Revelation. Not surprisingly all three are among the latest of the NT books to be written. I'm tempted to say Hebrews and 1 Timothy should come out because of the lack of certainty of authorship but if this criteria were to be applied evenly half of both the OT and NT would have to go too. I'm still thinking about Paul's letters but haven't come to a conclusion yet.
