Yes, they were. I learned all the right stuff and was glad I did.

Not as much as my parents were/are. They're the ones who taught me the "yes, ma'am, no, ma'am" , and the "yes, sir, no, sir". and beat me senseless if I forgot it.

Absolutely. They expected me always to treat others with consideration and respect. It was a gift they gave me.
