Help answer this question below.
Lots and lots of cardio. Running is the most effective, but be very discriminating with the shoes you wear to run in. Running really puts punishment on your joints. An elliptical is great, and burns a good amount.

Burning more calories than you are consuming. So, exercise has to be a part of any good diet. Fad diets just don't work.......it takes relearning and breaking old habits. Take it from me, I'm with you now and it's not easy. I managed to get a Wii balance board so will have to get it hooked up and get busy working out.
less sleep
a well balanced diet and lots of exercise.
Exercise
you dnt so much wanna aim for loosing weight so much as boostin your metabolism search for foods that will do this when i was on my weight loss programme i use to try and aim to burn 1000 cals in a sess i did this by hittib heavy cardio half hour on cross trainer half hour on treadmill half hour on rowing machine drink water nd you can burn up to 24% more cals

High metabolism. How do you get one? THAT I don't know what to tell you.
(Don't count on diet pills, and crap you buy through infomercials, except exercise machinery, and even then, pay attention to the fine print, and all you will have to do to change exercises. ;-) )
Low carbs and lots of exercise,
Running
Cycling
Swimming Any cardiovascular workouts.
Weights will tone the muscles

If you are talking about food, then lettuce, all kinds of veggies not soaked in butter and cheese....fruits (apples are great for this), hearty whole grains like oatmeal, lean meats, green tea if you can believe that.
Otherwise exercise...even walking very quickly for 20 minutes will make you lose. Just keep moving all the time. Don't take the car to the store if it's only a few block away.....same with the bus or train.
But, stop thinking of it as a diet....change your lifestyle so you don't have to use words like "diet;" eat healthy all the time and you will always be in good form. It's easy; but no one wants to commit.
The best thing you can do is first get a good diet. Don't starve yourself by any means. Many people feel if they starve themselves and exercise a lot that's good, but it's not. All that's going to do is eventually make you binge.
When eating on a diet it's actually better to eat more meals through out the day, but in small healthy quantities. Watching your calories of course.
Get on a good amount of protein and gain muscle also. You can search online how much protein intake you should be consuming.
Cardio is great is someone just suggested. I would even suggest spinning classes. Don't be overwhelmed by these classes and start with beginning ones. They help push you and make you burn more calories. Elipticals are a great secondary if you can't make it to classes.
Good Luck
Spending lots of time outside in the winter time. Your body spends a great deal of its calories in simply maintaining your body temperature. The cold temperatures will put your body to work, just trying to keep you at 98.6F.
Many people feel the need to hide in their homes in the winter, but if you bundle up it can be the most fun of any season to spend outdoors.
That my friend is all you. Only you can control your urges. I mean they do sell prescriptions that make you less hungry but that's something you would need to speak to a doctor about.
I personally would not recommend taking a pill as an alternative to eating b/c you can become addicted and dependent on them.
Just try to stay focused and be busy and free and clear of going to fast food restaurants. Also watch how much bread you are ingesting b/c many people don't realize that bread is really bad for you.
Good Luck

It would depend on your level of commitment. If you're really committed (most people aren't not matter how much they like to say they are), it could (should) safely take you two months. It sounds like a long time, but it passes quickly.
On average, it can take a good four months, which also IS NOT so long. You just have to treat it like a war or something.
You're very welcome!
