  • It takes time to build up the finger muscles needed to press the strings hard -- if you have your fingers in the right spots, and you're pressing hard enough, the chords will sound right (assuming the guitar is tuned, of course). So keep at it.
  • It also depends on wat kind of chords you are playing. bar chords (barring across frets higher up the neck) sound more different than first position chords. most should sound different but wen i started out they all sound pretty similar. practice makes perfect
