The lead singer worked in a town where a lot of people thought he was a nobody. Then he started going on tour with a band, becoming famous. Everyone started to realize that he has a lot of talent and they started becoming jealous. They started to give him the cold shoulder and a lot of his old friends didn't talk to him anymore. At the end of the song, he realizes that even though he has a lot of fame, he should "swallow up his pride," go back home, and start fixing things with his friends.
