The Ming Dynasty (Chinese: 明朝; pinyin: Míng Cháo) was the ruling dynasty of China from 1368 to 1644. It was the last ethnic Han-led dynasty in China, supplanting the Mongol-led Yuan Dynasty before falling to the Manchu-led Qing Dynasty. The Ming Dynasty ruled over the Empire of the Great Ming (大明國; Dà Míng Guó), as China was then known. Although the Ming capital, Beijing, fell in 1644, remnants of the Ming throne and power (now collectively called the Southern Ming) survived until 1662. Ming rule saw the construction of a vast navy, including four-masted ships of 1,500 tons displacement, and a standing army of 1,000,000 troops. Over 100,000 tons of iron per year were produced in North China (roughly 1 kg per inhabitant), and many books were printed using movable type. There were strong feelings amongst the Han ethnic group against the rule by non-Han ethnic groups during the subsequent Qing Dynasty [citation needed], and the restoration of the Ming dynasty was used as a rallying cry up until the modern era. thank you wikipedia

Well, the Ming Dynasty succeeded the Yuan. The Yuan was ruled by the Mongols (invasion aaahhh~!). During the Yuan, Kublai Khan ruled (70% sure). However, he did not have much affect on the Chinese culture... if anything, he and the other Mongols loved the chinese culture and embraced it. Then, a peasant (farmer?) began a revolution against the Mongols and won.Because of the Mandate of Heaven, the Ming Dynasty was born from the revolt's success. In my point of view, this illustrated the true strength of the Chinese and their culture. Even though the Mongols took over, they embraced their culture (I think they did this to all the countries they invaded.. their culture is pretty much the different cultures of the places put together). And then, later, a peasant took back control... showing the strength of the Chinese and their pride. The Qing Dynasty(or Manchu Dynasty) was after the Ming .
