Both. It depends on the bill. Years ago when I had a car payment, I actually got a reduction in the interest rate for setting up online billing.

My store is an authorized bill pay station. We take phone, gas, electric, cable bills and more. You can even pay your child support payments through us.
Even with that available to me I still write checks.
