We can only hope so but I'm not sure he's spoken that clearly in the matter and he does seem to have his share of Jesus Freaks around him

Actually, I think it's a response to those who would ignore science to promote a political agenda. For instance, the EPA was often guilty of burying the reports of its own scientists and coming up with policies based on political ideology.
