I am on high blood pressure medecine. I was advised to include a baby aspirin a day, which I did. I noticed that when I bang an arm, for example, I get these blood bruises (thin skin). Does the aspirin contribute to this ? Thank you, Anthony

This is a common side effect of daily aspirin therapy. I have the same thing going on - sometimes I have to make little jokes about my bumps and bruises because I look like someone beat me up, if I just get a little clumsy!!

My husband had the same problem a couple of months ago. He told the doctor about how he bruised very easily and that the bruises took a long time to go away. The doctor told him to try alternating the meds and the aspirin every other day, or instead of taking a whole aspirin to only take half every day. He chose to alternate the meds and the aspirin. he doesn't have the problem with the bruising as much anymore.
