I have read that - yes.

I dunno, all I know is that I suck at that game :)

When I play I have the best luck if I can get the aces out, because then you have more places to put cards. Good luck!

I suppose that depends on whose version you are playing. I would say if they are generated totally at random then you would run the chance of some being unsolvable, but if they program it with a certain number of games then they are probably all solvable.

Yes. Every game is winnable. However some of them are really difficult. I find it really helpful to build up from one red and one black ace at the same time (so you don't orphan cards and have no where to put them) and to always try to keep two free cells open after you've moved some cards around.

If you're playing on a computer, and not by hand, there is exactly 1 game that isn't winnable out of the random 32,000 deals. (Game #11982) If you're playing by hand or another program besides the one that comes with windows xp or later (considering windows 95 has 2 games you cannot win) the number of games that are unwinnable is rather large.

Found your discussion after staying up all night trying to solve game #1941 in Freecell; had to check if there is a proof that Freecell is always winnable. I have never been this stumped! Has anyone solved game 1941?
