It is a one step at a time process. It is important to pull what you can from your history to show that at one time things were different. This might include letters of reference and a resume. It might not hurt to change locations to one where there is more opportunity, though these days that may be hard to find. The job/place to live catch 22 is really hard to resolve.... can't get a job without a resume... can't get a place to live without an income. This by itself may be a reason to relocate to someplace where there is a relative or friend whose address can be used. Good Luck
