I would like to think I am one of many people that help answerbag be the fun place it is. So in that sense, yes. At home, due to the divorce, I try to be as strong as I can. Those are the two main situations where I find myself to be more needed.

Not really, I just go about my business without bothering anyone as best I can. Most 'pillars of the community' I've had the misfortune to know have major skeletons in the closet or use their status to pull strings for friends/family (often illegally).
