    Depends. If youre good with computers, Linux is fantastic. If you want ease of use, go with windows. Best windows OS is XP, def. not vista. best linux- Suse or ubuntu

    I'm currently using Windows XP Pro SP3, and I'm happy with it. But if you for some reason dislike XP, then get yourself latest Linux Mint - crashes a bit more than XP, but it's usable. Has same lifespan as XP before you need to reinstall everything again and again...

    Linux is generally the better OS of the two - unless you want to just play games! Ubuntu does a nice Linux distro, as do Linux Mint and Slackware. 'Full Retail Box Windows XP Professional SP3' is about the best Windows.
