Do you think the United Nations is of any use to anyone? I mean they are good for food and getting money to people that need it. But to have a say in what other countries do and say in wars?

UN is a puppet of the countries those fund it and have powerful position in the assembly, mainly US. It is in good for such countries.

It just seems like the whole thing with Israel and Lebanon they were pretty useless. I don't remember detales too well, but all I remember is that they kept making demands on Israel that were ridiculous, even though Lebanon started the war in the first place and made all the threats.

I think the United Nations is good for more than just food and giving money to people who need it. I think it's good for encouraging peace. I don't believe humans can make world peace happen alone, but that doesn't change that the United Nations is trying.

The concept is really good...power in numbers...rather like a union. It isn't perfect, but it is a darned sight better than how it used to be when the left hand country had no idea what the right hand country was doing regarding situations elsewhere in the world. It does succeed at being a 'clearinghouse' of ideas and concerted effort to solve many problems in the world. They have a good website ... and it is possible to determinge the prpojects on which the group is working at any given time.
