I am thinking about online dating. I am 39, great looking and not to desperate. (oh and I'm female) Half the people I ask say no, don't do it, the other half say absoulty, go for it, you never know. What do you think, good and/or bad?

No problem. The Internet has changed a lot of things about life -- and you can reach a much wider "audience" than you can using the old ways. Obviously you need to exercise some common sense when meeting someone for the first time after online contact, but life offers no guarantees regardless of how you meet someone. There's always a certain level of risk when you let someone else into your life.

I say 'nothing ventured, nothing gained and you will gain nothing at all by not finding out for yourself whether you like it or not. What have you got to lose? Bear in mind that there must be something to internet dating else there would not be such a huge amount of people doing it. Go for it - there's no reason not to.

I would ask,why,if your are so confident in your looks,do you need to look online in the first place!!!
