I had a friend in high school whose parents I love dearly. They loved me as well. My best friend and I never had conflict about it though because my parents loved her the same way hers loved me. All was well.

Ummm, yep. Didn't care much for the person my own age & parents were really cool. I always wondered why the kid was such a dip.

Most of the time I end up being friends with the parents instead of the kids. I just get on better with adults
