  • YES it would, but it isn't necessary. Other readers hopefully think for themselves regardless of rating. Personally, I leave a comment that I made a mistake and leave a correct impression of the answer. Then, I check the persons activity and locate an answer or question of theirs and go to that question. If it is adequate, I leave a comment that I am leaving some compensation points here to payback for my error. If all this sound like OCD, it is!
  • There is such an option. Don't rate the question at all. Just because it is there, doesn't mean you have to hand it a rating. Leaving a question unrated is EXACTLY the same as a neutral rating.
