Sure it does! Be happy, live for today, for tomorrow may never come. Enjoy the company of the one you are with and allow them to enjoy your company as well. That is how people become friends and lovers!

That has to do with proximity. The longer you are in someone's company, the more appealing that person becomes..especially if you are far away from home. I have no idea what percentage of people fall prey to proximity..but I would guess it would be in direct proportion to length of time away from the beloved.

hmmm well it might have worked for the Love Revolution Era but nowdays it seems like the lyric should read "If you can't be with the one you love, sleep with his brother, get pregnant, go on Jerry Springer and make a fool of yourself claiming the baby is his"

I've always felt that these lyrics were moronic. Can one just flick a love switch and love anyone. What if you're "with" a person that you aren't in the least attracted to, how is that possible? Now if the meaning is, if you can't be with the one you want to f**k, then f**k the one you're with, then I can see that.
