  • When I purchase an auto the next thing I do is go to my local parts house and get a repair manual (my preference is the Haynes Repair Manual)for my vehicle. There are many repairs that I have tools for and can follow the instructions most always. One good thing if you don't understand the manual is that you will gain knowledge that will help you weed out mechanics that may try to fool you in some way. hope this helps.
  • I am having the same problem. I have replaced the Spark Control Module and it did not help. My truck will not crank. Before "total death" I experienced backfire, sounding like a time jump. This has been happening for the last year. Usually when the truck sits for a while it will run fine. Not this time.
