  • Like what exactly?
  • As Obama's half white, what's your point?
  • of course!! why do you think he got elected?? you can't tell me with a straight face he's a good leader!
  • I am sure some will try but that is only normal behavior with any race. I hope that this change makes things better for us and then maybe some of the hate in this country can go away.
  • Yes. And don't forget unions.
  • I don't know, what did the Catholics do when Kennedy was elected?
  • Yep, that's his party base, they are going to try at least.
  • Sky blue? Grass green?
  • They already are where i am at! I could care less if hes black, white, jew, Puerto Rican, purple, green. who cares, he has a bad following, I have already heard the comments " now what are you white folk gonna do?" talk of reperations AGAIN .
  • I think both the term "call in" and "favors" are off-mark. What does he owe black people or organizations more than to anyone else who voted for him? I don't think he'd grant any favoritism anyway. People? Meaning private citizens? No, they have no access to the prez of the US. Black members of Congress? No more than other Democratic members. Black organizations... what do the NAACP or SCLC need or want that a president can give?
  • What favors? I'm not sure I get your question. I certainly don't think Obama will be any more partial to Blacks than he is to other groups who need attention. That's part of how he differs from Bush - who pandered all the time to his cronies.
  • Don't you forget that the reason why Obama became president is because the majority of the people who voted for him are white, and Obama has been very mindful of that. And that's one of the reasons why his cabinet is composed largely of caucasians--particularly those assigned to key positions. Obama was voted in to represent and lead the USA government, and not to represent exclusively the interest of black people and black people only. Naturaly, there [probably] would be some black organization who might feel entitled to ask Obama for something; specialy those who made a significant impact on his campaign. And what about white former presidents? Has any one ever asked the same question about any white president? Do you really believe that no group of white constituency of former presidents(all caucasians) ever asked for any favor? Do you really think that this half negroe-half white guy, who came out of nowhere to all of a sudden become the president of the US, wants to be seen favoring heavily African-Americans more than any other group? I think he has proved to be smarter than that. Since Obama won the elections, millions of questions, doubts and fear have poured over every available form of media. Even the fact that he's half white hasn't help much. Most people refer to him or about him as a "black man"...........Something to fear and doubt.
  • Why don't people understand he is only half black? Of course black people are, but let's hope he only gives into favors that are appropriate no matter who's skin color asks!
  • Maybe, but frankly, given the history we have of treating minorities like shit, I'd say they deserve a little something extra.
