How does Scientology view deprogrammers and groups that attempt to force people to denounce their chosen religion?

These so-called �deprogrammers,� better described as psychiatric depersonalizers, are money-motivated individuals who kidnap others for profit. Their methods include brainwashing, imprisonment, food and sleep deprivation and various forms of torture. Such activities are clearly against the principles held by Scientologists � and have been proven to be against the law as well.

Both the previous answers are correct. Deprogrammers have a nasty habit of overriding what other people really want to do and are in general a pretty unsavory bunch. But then again, CofS (church of Scn) goes after people aggressively just for talking negatively about them. So if you did have an exit counsellor or a cult expert or a therapist or a more user-friendly humane kind of deprogrammer- and I'm sure there are many- CofS would stomp it's lil' foot on the ground and howl. Then they'd hire PIs, follow the person and sue the living crap out of 'em.

Co$ goes after their critics and dissenters and does their best to destroy their reputations with lies and violence. Usually the harassment starts with public accusations of pedophilia around the target's workplace. Drugs have been planted on people's property and the cops have been called by Co$ agents. People are followed and intimidated and set up in every possible way. Lawsuits are used to drain away the target's economic resources. It's called Fair Game and anything is possible. Another one of the petulant madman LRH's evil little legacies. The Co$ hierarchy and their enforcement arm is the scum of the earth and no cowardly act is beneath them.

I am not a Scientologist, but I got added to their mailing list back in the 1980's. They wouldn't remove me when I asked. Now, 20 years and 6 addresses later, they STILL send things to me. Anyone else have this problem?
