  • He was tried and convicted by present Iraqi government. And I actually believe he was guilty of the crime for which he was tried. And politically it showed there was no going back.
  • Not right but I do not believe in captial punishment. Also, I am not sure if heads of state should be executed by an occupied government. I think that his execution may have been unprecedented. I mean they let Pinochet live.
  • Yes and no, we could have let it rot in jail, but that would have been a waste of money. Execution was quick and simple, but not painful enough.
  • It was the choice of the Iraqi government and reflective of the Muslim culture. It may seem barbaric to others, but this was Saddams's way of life, symbolic of the way he treated others, and poetically justified. He was only executed after a 2 year trial.
