I don't know about a hero, but I would certainly say that the entire situation was an exemplary execution of good airmanship. Combined with a very well aware and trained crew who followed all of the necessary procedures. As for the pax on board, they did a good job being pax, following directions and being rescued. It's somewhere between lucky and compliant.
