A lot of the ideas and objects are clever plays on words, or are derived from old Latin or classical words for similar ideas.

  • It is possible to determine what a spell does if you just break apart the word. Also, I LOVE the names that she gives her characters. You get a little hint as to what they are like. For example: Remus Lupin- Remus and Romulus were two brothers in mythology raised by wolves. Also Lupin comes from a Latin word meaning wolf. Doloros Umbridge- Dolor means sorrow and umbrage refers to something offensive or displeasurable.
