well i think older people have more experience.
-
Yes, I think life experience helps.
-
I think that it is a factor, but it isn't a determining one. It isn't even a necessary one. Some of the best answers you will read out here come from teenagers. Some of the worst come from adults. Some bad answers come from teens. Some good answers come from adults.
-
Not necessarily. There are great answers from AB-ers of all ages. There are also not-so-good answers from AB-ers of all ages...
-
Depends who is asking the questions. If someone young is asking a question, a younger group may be able to answer the question better then someone in a older group and vise versa.
-
Obviously with age comes life experience, knowledge, and wisdom. So, in most cases, older people will be able to answer better. There will be exceptions to very specialized areas were a young person with an education may know the most.
-
To a degree i would have said, though there are a lot of younger people that have surprised me with the quality of their answers.
-
I think if people are able to articulate themselves with any skill then they can answer questions well. Being articulate is not age dependent. Also, it helps if you have some general knowledge, and people of all different ages know things that others don't. I couldn't answer a Myspace question if you paid me!
-
WISDOM - does have it's good point's,you can learn alot of thing's you never thought of - YES
-
I'm 12. People say I have answers even 45 year olds can't write. I guess it has no effect on me. But someone at a young age might not know something an older person might know.
-
yes cause im dum
-
Honestly I doubt it. Everyone has different levels of knowlede and maturity. Simply meaning that it could be a 13 year old answering this question as opposed to a 40 year old. (read: it is :D) tisn't to say that I think my answers are anything spectacular but I have read answers from some people who were younger than I and they've been extremley helpful.
-
I hope not. I hope that people consider my answers to not be immature or foolish.
-
Since a large proportion of the people in the higher positions on AB are teens. it would seem that age does not necessarily bring wisdom. or the ability to express ourselves any better as we become adults. Of course a lot depends on the type of question but overall age does not seem to have a large effect
-
Sometimes yes, but then there are also a lot of quite young members here who blow me away with the wisdom of their answers. They are young in the flesh, but they are old souls. Then there are the Chubb daddys of the world, pathetic, boring, childish and, oh so desperate for attention.
-
I have seen great answers from people of all ages.
-
One would certainly hope that one has learned something in all these years of life. Experience SHOULD bring knowledge.
-
Age doesn't really restrict the amount the "life experience" you have accumilated.
-
there are a number of ways this could go... in a way younger people may be able to answer a question better because they can more relate to it or it has more to do with there gerneration. Same for the older people, they may be able to relate to it or it may have something to do with their generation. You can't say... so and so does not know what there talking about because there too young... because that's unfair. Yes, one teen may give the most idiotic answer... but they next may give an answer that would blow you away. It just depends on the person, their life experience, and there way with words... not their age. nikki
-
No, experience has to do with how well people answer.
-
I think it depends on what the question is. Adults have a bit more life experience behind them but a teenager might have a different insight into something then an adult would. So we shouldn't necessarily discount what someone says unless its totally false.
-
It depends upon what question it is, if it is say a relationship advice or depression question then I can see how an older person can be better in answering but most of the questions are very simple and basic which anyone can answer.
