  • Jim Carrey (probbably more of an oppsession than crush)
  • I do not have an actual "crush" but I have carried a sort of torch for a long time for her: http://sitemusiquealhambra.free.fr/images/carmen-amaya.jpg This is why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDRPgr5c4qM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nvd-MALA7tw&feature=related This was filmed about 3 months before her agonizing death and she was in obvious pain during the filming: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDdJiIw9yNk ... the woman was pure fire even that sick. She still finished the dance even though she had to sit down for a minute. She was also one TOUGH woman. She earned the name "Queen of the Gypsies." A short story about her: She was shown disrespect as she started to dance. She locked eyes with the man and danced for HIM. His head fell back and cracked against the wall. He was so stunned by her dancing that he did not notice he was bleeding. She unlocked eyes with him and continued her dance. She was not disrespected by him ever again and faced very little disrespect in general. Here is how tough she was: She is self and family trained. She also did a combination of male and female Flamenco. Even today such a mix is controversial. In her day it was unheard of. So, while she had the utmost respect in her day from the Flamenco community she took it from some of the Flamenco community for this. Of course she caught the normal sh*t for being a Gypsy (she was Gitano).
