I didn't hear that yet John, is that actually true???

It will stop when the government suffocates itself with it's own laws. Until then, we are just going to be suffocated by "illegal immigrants" and all their baggage. However, it might decrease the cases of identity theft, and fraud, illegal activites, and perhaps allow the military to grow. Who will do the jobs of the reservists and part-time national guard while they are away? I'm thinking REAL-LIFE, not on paper. Someone has to do the work, and it might require three to fill the duties of one (until they are properly trained).

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1766704/posts If someone is injured on the job and cannot work for the rest of his/her life or has medical bills, what do you propose? I think the place of employment bears responsibility. It isn't as if they didn't know that the worker was illegal.

You understand that the states don't give it; they only mandate it, right? Employers pay for it based upon the employees hours and rate of pay. It is their cost and is an insurance policy to cover themselves and the worker in the event of a job related injury. It really has very little effect on the immigration question one way or another.

Well, I guess it's time we stop paying illegals to work to. They shouldn't enjoy ANY benefits of working in the US. Hell, let's make it retroactive and apply it to ALL immigrants!! Of course all of us pale-skinned Americans are immigrants.....

It will sop only when the majority of Americans realise that they are being sold out by their own politicians because of corporate greed for cheap exploitable labour, and they stand up as one and kick out the bums who are holding the gates open deliberately.

Alot of employers' goals are to hire illegals to avoid paying for stuff like work comp, health benes, etc. I think they should be penalized , as required by (WC)law...Per Dept of Industrial Relations...as well as have to pay damages to illegal. I understand that illegals are also hiring sympathetic lawyers to sue for back wages and overtime too. Posting Comment...

You know what gets me about all this? Illegal immigrants can do things that require legal documentation - like be seen by a doctor, or acquire a driving liscense and car, buy a home or rent an apartment, get arrested and NOT be thrown out of the country, etc. If you're going to go somewhere illegally, I personally think that you should lay low. I have NO problem with legal immigration..but the illegal kind really bothers me. I mean, there are a lot of people going about getting here the RIGHT way by waiting in lines, learning the language, and becoming citizens. It doesn't seem fair that someone can bypass that whole process and then expect the same rights and courtesys as citizens.
