  • Not in the least. It's perfectly natural for a bunch of folks to get tired of being targeted by a bunch of rockets shot at them during a time of a "cease-fire". Perhaps the day will come when the Palestinians will remember that the Israelis really do get tired of a bunch of rabid dogs, and choose to allow them to live in peace.
  • Is it inhuman to use noncombatant women and kids as human shields, like Hamas does now? Or simply convenient? You seem to be forgetting a little thing like northbound rocketfire...on a daily basis.
  • This whole particular situation is inhumane. I feel like we need one big preschool teacher to go tell these people to go sit in separate corners for a while.
  • War is bad. War sometimes is necessary, though. I don't have an idea about the Middle East, as most of us don't. If the war is justified, you have to know that innocents on both sides will be hurt. That is terribly unfortunate, but a reality. On that note, I will say that when the news and other agencies focus on little kids to say that one side is right or wrong, they are ones who are wrong. WWII had to be fought. War is no longer like it was in William Wallace's day.
  • Point Blank if Israel was willing to follow International Law and the Geneva and Nuremburg conventions there would have been peace a long time ago. Israel is a nation founded by terrorism and theft and continued by violence and oppression, Ethnic cleansing is a legitimate crime against humanity, and international law and precedence allow for armed resistance. The blockade that Israel has Imposed on Gaza, and the continued theft (relabeled as settlement which is a direct violation to treaties signed by Israel) not to mention the less reported numerous violations of the truce by Israel and total disregard of dozens of UN resolutions shows that Zionism is and will continue to be totally Inhumane. Anytime Israel wants peace it can be done, they just have to return to the ’67 borders and end the blockade and starvation of the Palestinians. Sadly however the world is powerless as long as the single superpower continues to support the aggression and oppression by Israel, the problem started with the British and is continued by the USA. It is 100% totally inhumane but lets face it Palestinians have been dehumanized so many of the USA citizens and sadly even the Canadians don’t see anything wrong. From September 29 2000 until before this conflict began: 123 Israeli children killed/1050 Palestinian children killed 1062 Israelis killed/4876 Palestinians killed 8341 Israelis injured/33034 Palestinians injured US FUNDING 6.8 million per day to Israel/.3 million per day to Palestinians (75% of which is taken by Israel to cover costs related to security) 65 UN Resolutions directed to Isreal/0 directed to the Palestinians Political Prisoners and Detainees 1 Israeli/10756 Palestinians Homes Demolished (1967-present) 0 Israeli homes/18147 Palestinian homes Israel has 223 Jewish Only settlements and outposts on UN recognized Palestinian land, the Palestinians have no settlements in Israel. Of course the world (UN) is wrong, common sense and logic is wrong, and thereby humanity is wrong, support for Israel is support for inhumane treatment of non-Jews in lands to which they are natives. It shows how inhumane and elitist westerners really are to blame the oppressed for the useless efforts at self defense. If the people living in areas that have rockets hitting them want, they can move, Palestinians don’t have that option especially in Gaza. It’s not just inhumane it’s totally barbaric, I’m glad I won’t be around to see how History remembers the world standing by for 40+ years while the Palestinians have cried out for their rights.
  • In addition to inhuman, Zionism is satanic and the core of the problem in Palestine. Keep watching the Palestinian Holocaust. My 2 cents.
  • A brief chronology of the latest saga of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is crucial to a proper appreciation of the issues involved in the current war. In August 2005, after five years of fighting in the Second Intifada with no resolution in sight, Israel unilaterally withdrew all of its soldiers and citizens from the Gaza strip in hopes of fostering a lasting peace. Since the Israeli withdrawal, however, Hamas, an internationally recognized terrorist organization funded by Iran, has fired over 6,000 deadly rockets from Gaza targeting Israeli civilians. It is against these war crimes, the indiscriminate targeting of innocent civilians, that the Israeli military has been forced to respond. As President-elect Obama asserted in a campaign visit to Israel in July 2008, "If somebody was sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I would do everything to stop that, and would expect Israel to do the same thing." After years of restraint and after exhausting all diplomatic avenues, it is this very principle of defending its civilians, one of the foundational tenets of a democratic nation, which has driven Israel to take up arms against Hamas. There is no question that the loss of Palestinian life in Gaza is terribly tragic and that every effort should be made to avoid civilian casualties and to provide medical aid and supplies to those suffering. While no party is blameless for the tragic Palestinian death toll, the stark contrast between Israel's and Hamas' treatment of the people in Gaza must be unequivocally asserted. Israel's defense of its own citizens has gone hand in hand with extraordinary efforts to protect the civilians of Gaza. Israel distributes leaflets, sends voicemails and text messages, and uses radio and TV announcements to warn Gazan civilians to clear areas of imminent attacks. Israel seeks to minimize civilian casualties through surgical strikes on military objectives, and frequently aborts key missions due to concerns for civilian casualties. Moreover, since the beginning of the war, Israel has transported thousands of pounds of food and medical supplies to ease the Gazans’ plight. Unfortunately, Israel's efforts to minimize harm to the civilians of Gaza have been confounded by Hamas which consistently places civilians in the line of fire. Hamas, in clear violation of international law, gathers women and children around military targets to use them as human shields. This terrorist regime endangers the people of Gaza by using civilian homes, schools, mosques and hospitals as launching grounds for rockets fired at Israeli civilians and prides itself on the number of its own people martyred to the destruction of Israel. It preys on the moral conscience of the democratic world, which places a premium on innocent lives, knowing that Israel seeks to avoid killing the very same Palestinian civilians whom Hamas militants hide behind and deem dispensable. It is these abominable tactics of Hamas that leads to the "disproportionate" number of Palestinian civilian casualties and which should evoke international condemnation and outrage. http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2009/01/medical-students-with-a-moral-compass.html .
  • Hamas has been launching rockets into israel on a daily basis without regard for women babies or children..Israel has the right to defend itself and it's people. Israel at least gives the palestinians a heads up..they drop fliers before they drop bombs..Hamas doesn't.
  • oops, meant to respond to a poster.
  • yawn....and please do not bring up the satmars..it is a jewish sect just as looney as the "christian" mormons...completly nuts...and yes everyone that doesnt agree with the islamist is "corrupt"......you are by far more dense than a holiday fruitcake... and i dont hate my ex...i feel sorry for him...but trust me..you are seeing things through islamic green glasses..to you muslims are always in the right...if i am wrong..prove me wrong..prove to me you are fair..as one one group is perfect..tell me one instance in history where muslims as a group (anywhere at anytime) where in the wrong......i am waiting...you should be able to come up with something as no one or group is perfect...if you can come up with something you will gain my respect....if you cant you will solidify my opinion that you are nothing more than an islamic apologist
  • You know Isreali bombs are a lot more accurate than Hamas rockets.
  • It's called war. Best to get used to it, because as atrocious and inhuman as it is, it's been around for a while now, and doesn't exactly seem to be going anywhere. It was inhuman when Hamas did it, it's inhuman now that Israel's doing it back. It was inhuman back when the powerful British Empire was doing it for land and country, it's been inhuman just about every time America has done it for "Peace" or "Justice" or "National Security"... War is atrocious and unforgivable no matter who does it, no matter what their reason, so there's no real sense debating whether one party's systematic violence is any more justified than another's.
