Help answer this question below.

My 1992 pontiac grand am is overheating. i think i know why it is, it has air in the cooling system. the question i have is how do i get the air out of the system

    there actually should be little things on top of the hose u can turn to bleed the air

    Not sure, but you could try running the engine with the radiator cap off in short intervals.make sure your coolant level is up where it belongs and it is 50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze.
    You might want to take a compression test on all cylinders just in case you might have a head gasket leak. If the fluid level in radiator stays up where it belongs its probably not the head gasket. not sure of this, but better than doing nothing. GOOD LUCK!!!
