Once he is 18 and out of your house you have no legal liability for him. He is considered an adult. I'm sure there are special circumstances such as a mental illness, retardation, or the like, but it doesn't sound like that is the case here.

Eighteen is adulthood and out on your own. we preach this to out kids, yet it never hits home. If your son does not have a mental problem, you will not be responsible for his actions, good or bad.

Emancipation is only for juveniles not adults. In every state anyone can move out at the age of 18 and can be told to leave.

I'm sorry , I don't have a answer , I was trying to find out what emancipate means. If you know PLEASE email and let me know Thanks so much pjfull_1@juno.com

You do not have any legal liability for him and can tell him to get out any time you want to and he has to comply. The only time this is not true is if he has a mental or physical disability that makes him unable to care for himself and you are his legal guardian through a court order. But you might want to start eviction action in court so you can cover your butt if he comes back and tries to say you illegal evicted him.

Eighteen is a adult. once he reaches this age, he is responsible for his own actions, good or bad. no more juvenile court. Parents do not have a legal obligation to their children after age 18.
