I will best remember you for getting me those 200 points which I refused to earn myself by answering questions when I was just that much away from Level 50. You went around answering my old questions and within an hour the 200 points came on their own and Presto - I was a Sage! . Thank you Chris.

Chris, you're a very friendly and caring person who is willing to talk to anyone who needs to get something off their chest. I even remember that one evening when you spent some time chatting with some total stranger contemplating suicide because he needed someone to talk to. That's what I remember most about you.

You're one of the first member here who paid attention to me and convinced me to stay on here. I don't know really why you want to be leaving, but I feel slightly bad that I can't reciprocate said gesture, and this isn't going to be the same without you. Your activity around here was always pleasant, funny and friendly, I can easily say that you're one of my best friends on here. Also, very easy going, non judgemental and fun to have around. You're the kinda a guy that makes the Good Samaritan look like a Nazi, I think the world needs more people like you. Aside from that, I absolutely cannot fail to mention the inevitable two traits that I know you by, zombies and space! It's saddening that you're leaving, but even so, you have all my best wishes. I'm sorry to see you go Chris. You were the first to help out when I had questions about this site. I have also marveled at your knowledge in many areas, especially astronomy. I can't help but wonder if your leaving is connected to your bad experience the other night; maybe a different perspective has arisen from that experience, I don't know, but I wish you luck, health, good times and happiness on your journey. I think if you happen to come back, I would recognize you under any avatar... Take Care Captain.

Seriously: I think your doing AB a disservice; if you leave. Whatever has upset you, AB seems to be a place where you have thrived and enjoyed people's conversations regardless of whether if you agreed with them or not. Me, I just don't want to deal with having a friends list, but you, your different. You cannot hide, your a people person here on AB. I don't know how you are in real life, but you are capable of having & carrying on a conversation while making friends out of people. Hey Chris I only was just getting to know you, I will remember your great sense of humour and the great questions we disscussed on Astrobiolgy. I never checked your profile when I saw this question. I didn't realize that you were leaving (well, this account, anyway). What do I remember you for? When I met you, some time in early 2008, you were "Chris makes bad decisions". I remember you as being somewhat of a jerk. ;-) I think you were attacking people who didn't agree with you, and you were just not someone most ABers would want to get to know. It wasn't so much what you had to say, but your attitude toward everyone else. ONE question, and a comment on the questioner's comment on my answer, and I told you off. You shot back. Very shortly in that give-and-take, you actually started discussing the question and my answer. I think I pointed out that this was much more "fun" than what I'd been seeing you do, and you agreed. Within a VERY short time, you'd done the same for a couple of other people, and began making GOOD decisions on questions and answers. Then you started making friends, especially the girls or AB. I didn't see all your interactions then, but you apparently did all right, since some of the long-standing members, here, agreed, and became your friends. You had, obviously, became more enamored of AB, and started making suggestions, working to learn to moderate well, etc. I think you tossed in the PB a couple of times, but believe you haven't since. When you began moderating the planetary questions, I think I started losing track of you. You were off on your own doing your thing, while I was doing mine. I kept seeing your name above mine on the leaderboard, and being jealous that the guy I had "created" was doing so much "better" than me. LOL But I was proud, at the same time. Yeah... I saw a couple of bad decisions - Your aligning yourself with a couple of questionable characters, even if they were long-time members, but I think you stayed more moderate than they, as most of them are gone, now, but YOU are still here. (Since it seemed to be both sides of a long-time argument, you may not realize which ones I'm suggesting are "questionable", but it doesn't really matter now, does it?) Your "quirky" (Kirky?) answers will be missed. You could almost always put a twist on either serious or frivolous subjects, to either make it fun, or make people see the other side. You showed you could have a "bite" without being the jerk you used to be, though that guy still raised his head now and then, for a VERY short time. If you open another account, I'm sure you will do well and ALL aspects of what I've described will appear in the future. So, you will be missed... My first "convert"... For the serious stuff... For the fun stuff... For the laughs... and even that (much more gentle) jerk, now and then... Have a good life, Chris. ;-) Hope to see you around here in a new way.

Chris - reading through these answers, you seem to be the first friend to an awful lot of people - you were the first to invite me to your friends' list too! So, either, you are a stalker - prowling for new members (joking), or else you are a kind and welcoming person. Shame about the star trek thing though.. *LOL* I can never answer any of those questions

I'm very sorry to see you go, and hope you will change your mind after a taking a break. You will be dearly missed by so many of us, you have a lot of friends here that love and admire you, Chris. You have been an important part of AB and a great help to many, who needed it. This place won't be the same without you. chris, you were the reason why i joined the answerbag community in late august of last year ~ you were my first friend request. i will never forget the kindness you showed towards me on that day. you are also the reason why i decided to take an extended hiatus from the site. the experience you shared with us last week was a wake-up call to me too ~ i have a very long bucket list, as im sure you do as well. i wish you all the best in your future endeavors ~ i imagine you will accomplish many great things in your lifetime. you are a shooting star blazing brilliantly across the night sky ~ a cosmic wanderer, a fellow astral traveler. i hope we will meet again ~ if not in this dimension, perhaps in another parallel universe (the one where everyone runs around naked). i will best remember you for your thought-provoking, stimulating conversations, witty repartee, intelligence, sweetness, thoughtfulness, honesty, incredible sexiness, and most of all your soulfulness. i was inexorably drawn to your seductive light and i enjoyed basking in its glow... may you live in interesting times my friend... live long and prosper... and thank you for everything.

Chris, I really wish that you would reconsider doing this. Life isn't perfect. Things don't always go the way that we would want them to go. What IS important are all of your friends here. Your sense of humor, your intelligence and your ability to get along with most people is what I would remember you for. Would you think about just taking a break for awhile and then coming back. I don't want to see you under a new name...it just wouldn't be the same. When I first came to AB, I had a lot of stuff that I was dealing with. Your sense of humor helped get me through it.
