No, but I sometimes feel as though I have when I read some of the contributions on this site.

Wouldn't that be a hellish nightmare??!!?? How could you possibly convince them you are sane? (or at least sane enough to be in the outside world)

Falsely placed,NO,never.Voluntarily placed,many,many times. Even manic,I knew I needed help,and when one is in a manic state,they don't think too clearly in the first place! Mental wards/institutions have their place and times when they are needed..The idea that you were placed in without your consent(much less the truth of being unstable)IS AGAINST THE LAWS oF THIS COUNTRY!!! This is a prosecutable offense,not only against the family who put you in there,but against the institution(if there was sufficient evidence,you won't get anywhere,but if you were wrongly institutionalized and feel it was wrong,,seek professional legal help)I have seen this happen,and the complaint was heard in court. You could block those who put you in from ever doing this again.Up to you to pursue this,or you can be a victim again,and again till you do the right thing.
