I use vinegar, ammonia, and a drop of dishwashing liquid in a bucket of hot water. I use a cloth to wipe the windows with the solution, then I dry with newspaper. Your windows will sparkle.

Newspaper or a piece of cloth.

newspapers for the win!

I use vinegar and paper towels. I hadn't thought of newspaper though, that stuff works wonders with car windows and would probably be better then paper towels...

Vinegar (white). With our well water we get distilled water to mix with the vinegar. Streaking is left behind dirt, not a problem of what wipe you are using. Newsprint is cheaper and relatively easier on the environment since it is recycled paper. However there are 'new' recycled paper towels on the market and if you have a compost heap you can toss them there. As long as you stay away from harsh chemicals. Alcohol will remove oils, there are a lot of oils in the air. If streaking is an issue try rubbing alchol to cut through the oils.

i use glass plus and a cloth it works very nicely

Windex and paper towels for me. The trick is to use one paper towel for wiping and cleaning and another for drying afterwards to elimate streaking. =)

Newspaper and diluted vinegar. 9 parts water to 1 part vinegar. (Malt vinegar)
