    HYDRALAZINE 50 MG

Hydralazine is a vasodilator. It relaxes (widens) veins and arteries, which makes it easier for your heart to pump - used to lower blood pressure.

I just had an episode with this medication. Lucky for me, I was able to self diagnose. I normally take Metoprolol 50 mg.
I just had my prescription refilled at the LBJ Tropical Medical Center in American Samoa. They gave me Hydralazine 50mg instead. I took this along with Capotril, which is another blood pressure lowering agent, and guess what? My B/P dropped to 77/48 with a pulse of 166. Not good. After figuring out that I had just started what I thought was Metopolol, but had been assured that this was a generic by the Pharmacy at LBJ, I then took 3 ea 50 mg tablets of Metopolol and my heart rate came down, with the corresponding increase in B/P Doug Harrington
