they're trying but it's not doing any good. from my own experience i've found that rednecks in the south, according to my definition, are all talk and little action.

Yes. We just had a local gang rape of a lesbian by men that supposedly wanted to "convert" her. If that isn't hurting someone to try and "beat the gay" out of them, I don't know what is.

Absolutely not. "beat the gay" out of people implies that they are trying to change that person's orientation. This is not what they are doing. They are being hateful, spiteful, down right mean, and dangerous. They are using an excuse to beat the sh*t out of someone they just don't like for whatever reason. No more. No less. There is no excuse for this behavior. Heaven help them if The Chief is around.

I think most are in a defensive posture. They want gay influence to be minimized and hidden, as they have resigned to having to accept the existence of homosexuals.
