I've been verbally abused because of my asian and height factors.
I hate the stereotype that says that Asian women make good sexual object, because of their size. That's NOT they way to view a human being!
I keep being laughed at because they say that asian men are small, in more more than one way, which isn't true. Every man is different!
I was always picked last during the selection of teams, because I was only 5'6" and for that people related height with strength. The bigger you are, the stronger you are. The shorter you are, the weaker you are. Nevermind the fact that I benched 220lb at 16 years of age and ran the mile in 5 minutes flat!
I wish people would keep an open mind on issues. Stereotypes lay down a foundation of predestined characteristics of a person or group. I ask that when you have children, you teach them to see through the ignorance and push through the barriers that have been set.

That White people are power-driven - there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with wanting everything out of life that it has to offer. That Bush is the worst president ever- do your history project on past presidents and maybe you'll understand where I'm coming from. That anyone wearing a turban or hijab on their head is a terrorist or suicide bomber. That Americans are fat and lazy. The list goes on, but this is just part of the reason that this nation is so divided. I'm so glad that atleast ONE person looks beyond all of the stereotypical b.s.- that'd be me :)

The one that bugs me most often is the 'dumb blonde' stereotype. I'm not blond, and I'm not dumb, but I don't think it is funny at all.
After that, I think I agree with Anon that the image of teenagers as worthless, brainless, and untrustworthy is a really bad stereotype. That one actually makes me mad, because if you insist on treating people, esp. young people, like that, then a lot of them will start to try to live up to that image from spite.
Some stereotypes can be funny, but mostly, none of them really are. They are often quite cruel.

Living in Australia, I get this alot, and it's worse than any American stereotype I've come across.
All aboriginal people are criminals, they can't hold on to jobs, they 'are genetically comfortable' with alcohol because they don't have the 'lineage' for it (bullshit), that they all smell and should live in the bush, that they are unable to take care of themselves, and that it's their fault that they live in third-world conditions. It's disgusting how ignorant people can be - they see racism against Australian aboriginals as justified.

All stereotypes are ridiculous, but a personal one that I deal with all the time is that cheerleaders are dumb and that cheerleading does not actually require any skill.
