My name was already picked out. I'm the only of my siblings not to have any kind of "special" name.. one of my sister's is named after my dad's favorite song.. and my other sister is named after the month my parents were married.. I just have a name they both liked, ;).

way after i was born, about 10 days i think, the family couldnt agree on a name so they put names in a hat and my name was picked out!!!!
-
Beforehand. There were strict rules of naming in my family that had been followed for many generations. I do not have any children so I am not going to face the decision of breaking those rules of naming so my child, born in America, could have an American first name.
-
My parents agreed on a name and then my father went to register it (and unknown to my mother) added another middle name.

The had picked a name for me beforehand and then once I was born my mom changed her mind, thank god for that :)
