  • I think PETA just hit a new low in the brain cell-justification for their existence ratio. Really...confusing kids now with a ficticous species? I read the letter that they'd like kids to sign and send on to the director of the US Fish and Wildlife Service. The facts therein are a little bogus regarding pain receptors. There's an excellent article written in Diver Training Magazine recently regarding this and the fish's natural response both chemically and physically. What I find really amusing is that PETA on that site is promoting petting these sea kittens ( aka fish). Don't they realize that it's a potential danger to both human and fish? The human gets bit perhaps, the fish loses it's mucus covering and is then suseptible to dying by infection. Great PETA...kill fish by telling kids to pet them. What's next?
